Install computer related hardware and software as needed. Support and provide problem determination and resolution on PC software and hardware. Maintain catalog, software and hardware inventory. Document service activities through the ticketing system. Access all areas of the hospital campus in order to perform computer-related installations. Use computer to accomplish data entry and PC troubleshooting. Summon outside resources when needed to complete installations and support end-users. Act as a liaison between end-users and IS as well as coordinate issues between software vendors and IS.


Creates and maintain user network access and provides end users training as to log on and password confidentiality.

Maintains security of network resources and ensures that user access is limited to those areas necessary to perform the user’s job. Ensures that end users have adequate access to support on all applications used by the hospital.

Provides PC’s and peripherals hardware and software troubleshooting and support.

Ensures hardware and peripherals are maintained and serviced appropriately.

Tests and loads of all upgrades and enhancements to ensure a minimum of disruption to end users and hospital business.

Maintains document to ensure the facility is in compliance with licensing requirements of various software vendors.

Provides periodic diagnostic on all PC’s to ensure they are properly operable.

Provides and promotes technical guidance to end users.

Performs system backup and restore as necessary and Maintain logs for system backup and recovery accurately.

Maintains hospital inventory of computer related hardware.

Analyze and recommend changes for PC upgrades/replacements, etc.

Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware/software equipment in an efficient and timely manner.

Documents and complete requests in work order system.

Maintains confidential information according to hospital standards and/or regulations as required.

Performs other duties and functions necessary for the efficient and economic operation of the department as assigned/directed.




  1. High School Diploma required for all new hires starting 4/1/14
  2. Experience in Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and Active Directory.
  3. 1-3 years experience preferred.
  4. Customer service experience preferred.
  5. Preferred: Comptia A+, N+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
